My wife and I bought an extra snugride infant car seat base for my mother-in-law so that it would be easier to transport our daughter for babysitting. It works great. The only complaint that I have about it, is that it is hard to get it really firmly in place. We took ours to the local fire department and they showed us how to do it properly. I definitely recommend going to the local fire or police department even if you think you know what you are doing. Basically you have to contort your body and put your knee in the middle of the base (not too comfortable) in order to weight down the base as you tighten the seat belt or latch system. I have an older car so we attached the base using the seatbelt which works great. My in laws have the latch system and they also don’t have a problem. I don’t think you can go wrong with Graco.

The actual car seat/infant carrier is a bit heavy especially now with a 4 month old, but I think it’s better to have a sturdy seat and a little exercise than a flimsy seat that isn’t safe.

have a Snugride carseat for my infant, but 3 vehicles for him to ride in. This base is exactly the same as the one that came with the seat, so it fits any vehicle with any type of hookup. Now grandma and grandpa have a base in their car too. AND, with the latch system, I hooked this up in less than 2 minutes. Grandpa didn’t like where it was it, so he moved it just as easily with no problems. It’s so much easier than trying to strap in the seat by itself every time. Plus, this base is by far one of the easiest to take a carseat in & out of. I would
definitely buy one for every vehicle.
